There’s nothing closer to you that yourself
For Phillies ace Zack Wheeler, that’s true even after parts of the body are removed, just like the pitcher had to do to address his thoracic outlet syndrome.
Philly Inquirer’s Lochlahn March reported on Wednesday that Wheeler opted to keep the rib and has it in his closet.
The closet may be as good a place as any – it’s not like many homes feature a good place to display bones that have been surgically removed from one’s body.
Wheeler is expected to be behind schedule this Spring Training as the Phillies look to get him back to full health following the season-ending injury.
The team is also expected to target starting pitching depth with the loss of free agent Ranger Suarez this offseason.
