Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim is headed to the gold medal game and he had to go through a familiar face to get there.

Sanheim helped lift Team Canada past Finland in a dramatic semifinal, knocking out Flyers teammate Rasmus Ristolainen in the process. Sanheim picked up his first Olympic point by setting up the tying goal late in regulation before Canada sealed the win with a power-play tally.

The victory sends Canada to the gold medal game and ends Finland’s title hopes, sending Ristolainen to the bronze medal matchup.

For Sanheim, it’s a clutch moment on the international stage and a unique storyline for the Philadelphia Flyers, as one teammate advances toward gold medal glory while another comes up just short.
