Both UConn & Villanova would play good defense & at one point the Wildcats would have a lead of 3 on two separate times, with the last one being 30-27 with 4:35 left. Villanova would be down 34-32 going into halftime.
During the 1st half, Villanova Acaden Lewis would have a nice move to the basket
Based off what we saw in the 1st half, this game would be setting up for an exciting 2nd half og basketball, UConn would have something to say about that as they woudl jump all over the Wildcats and saw the lead up to 10 at 44-33 with 16:45 left & the crowd inside Xfinity Mobile Arena just could not believe what they were seeing.
One of the plays that UConn would make in the 2nd half
The Huskies would get the lead as high as 21 at 67-46 with 4:52 left. During the second half, there were multiple times that Villanova would have empty possessions where they just could not get anything to drop. A Crowd of 20,261 was in attendence and some thought that Villanova could hang with the 5th-ranked team, but just did not match the energy that the Huskies showed the entire game.
