The Philadelphia 76ers will be without Joel Embiid for at least the next three games after an MRI revealed a strained right oblique. Embiid reportedly began feeling discomfort following contact in Friday’s game and the team is opting for caution as he recovers.
In addition to the oblique strain, Embiid has dealt with soreness on the right side of his body, including ongoing knee and shin management that the Sixers have carefully monitored all season. He has missed practice time and will be re-evaluated after this short stretch.
Philadelphia’s priority remains long-term health, especially with the postseason approaching. The team will lean on Tyrese Maxey and the supporting cast while Embiid works toward a full recovery.
