The Eagles face a lot of free agent decisions this offseason.
One of the most impactful players hitting free agency for the Eagles is tight end Dallas Goedert.
Unfortunately, a reunion may not be in the books. Matthew Berry reports one of his most interesting takes from the combine is that Dallas Goedert will not be in Philadelphia next year.
That isn’t exactly breaking news for those who have followed the Eagles.
Goedert is thought of as a top tight end and likely seeking top-tier TE1 money. That’s not a luxury the Eagles can afford to pay, making it an easy guess that he’ll move on unless he decides he wants to take a team-friendly deal.
Goedert has top-level production, but the problem for his career since his rookie contract has been his availability, with the tight end sugaring several injuries that sidelined him for multiple weeks since that time. The 2025 season was the first time since his rookie contract that he was able to appear in 15 games during the regular season, so it may be a good time for him to cash in.
The Eagles, meanwhile, have almost no tight end depth at this point and will need to find a replacement (or multiple) if Goedert isn’t back in midnight green next year.
