Despite reports to the contrary, the Philadelphia Eagles continue to work toward a potential contract agreement with tight end Dallas Goedert as free agency approaches.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Eagles and Goedert remain engaged in negotiations, though the veteran tight end is still positioned to reach the open market if a deal is not finalized before the start of free agency.

Goedert, who has been a key part of Philadelphia’s offense since being drafted in the second round in 2018, could attract interest from several teams if he becomes available. However, the Eagles have expressed interest in keeping the veteran in Philadelphia.

General manager Howie Roseman is balancing multiple roster decisions this offseason, and Goedert’s situation remains one of the more notable storylines as the team prepares for the start of the new league year.
