Edge rusher Jaelan Phillips has reportedly agreed to a four-year, $120 million contract with the Carolina Panthers, including $80 million guaranteed.

The move comes after what had been reported as “growing optimism” that Phillips would remain with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Philadelphia acquired Phillips from the Miami Dolphins at the NFL trade deadline in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick. In eight regular-season games with the Eagles, the former first-round pick recorded two sacks, seven quarterback hits, one forced fumble, and four passes defended while rotating along the defensive line.

Carolina’s agreement with Phillips represents a significant investment in improving its pass rush heading into the 2026 season. Meanwhile, the Eagles will now look elsewhere to reinforce their edge rusher depth this offseason.

At $30 million AAV, the Eagles will likely receive a 3rd-round comp pick for his departure. Milton Williams ($26M) netted the Eagles the second-highest comp pick in the third round in the upcoming draft for his departure last season.
