First Jaelan Phillips and now Jahan Dotson.

Only a few hours into the negotiating window, the Eagles are already set to lose another player to free agency.

Reports now indicate Jahan Dotson will depart for Atlanta.

At two years and $15 million, it just didn’t make sense for the Eagles to bring Dotson back, although they very likely kept in contact with him if there wasn’t a market developing.

At $7.5 million AAV, the Eagles would have received a sixth-round comp pick in this year’s draft from last year’s free agent cycle. That may be what the Eagles are looking at potentially getting this offseason, too.

The Birds traded a third-round pick and two seventh-rounders for two seasons of Dotson. He put up roughly 500 yards with the Eagles and was effective in the Super Bowl last year, but never really got a target share that made it possible for him to gain many more yards than that.

The Eagles have in-house WR3 options in Darius Cooper and Johnny Wilson.
