Sam Howell was never a true Eagles player. Not like Nakobe Dean, who turned down the Cowboys and went to the Raiders instead.
The Eagles third-string QB is just going to head down to Dallas next year.
It will be his third NFC East team.
Howell had been acquired via trade last offseason but did nothing with the team other than manage to knock draft pick Kyle McCord off the roster.
He spent the season behind Tanner McKee.
The Eagles are already implementing a new offense so there’s no concern about needing to bring a new QB up to speed, but behind Hurts the Eagles now only have McKee, who could be a trade candidate if another team gets desperate enough to make a good offer for him.
