Chester, PA: It’s still early in the 2026 MLS Season & for the Philadelphia Union, they are trying to figure things out and looking for their 1st MLS win of the season & on Saturday afternoon, they will do battle with the Chicago Fire at Subaru Park.

Lineup:

How the game went:
During the 1st half, both the Union & Fire would have their chances to score but were unable to finish. There would also be some good defensive plays. So, when would the scoring get started? The answer would be in 1st half stoppage time, &  The fire got it started on goal from Hugo Cuypers for the 1-0 lead & then a few minutes later, the Union would get things tied late in 1st half stoppage time by Milan Iloski

It was an eventful half with a good amount of hits, especially this one from Cavan Sullivan

The game would be tied at 1 at halftime & based on what we saw in the 1st half, we are setting up for some late-game drama. The fire would make the Union pay in the 58th minute from Jonathan Bamba. Multiple times in the 2nd half, when the Union had the ball and were going towards the goal, they would step back and pass instead of taking the shot. I have seen this movie before, especially with the Philadelphia Flyers when they have the power play.

As the final whistle sounded, the Boooo came out & the Union would fall to 0-5 in MLS Play & also have lost their first 3 MLS home games for the 1st time in club history

Postgame:

Philadelphia Union Coach Bradley Carnell

Andre Blake & Alejandro Bedoya

What is next:

The Union will now have a 2-week break for the International games going on & will return to game action April 4 with 2 road games & then return to Subaru Park on April 18 vs DC United
