The Eagles aren’t giving Tanner McKee away… not even close.
According to reports, the New York Jets reached out to Birds about the Mormon Missile, only to be met with a steep asking price: a second-round pick. The figure was reportedly viewed as “exorbitant,” effectively ending any real traction on a potential deal.
While the number may raise eyebrows, it reflects how the Eagles value McKee internally. Philadelphia has built a reputation for developing quarterbacks and appears unwilling to part with a cost-controlled, high-upside backup unless blown away.
League-wide, similar price tags have surfaced for young quarterbacks, suggesting this may be more about market positioning than an imminent trade.
Still, the message from the Eagles is clear: if you want McKee, it’s going to cost you.
