In a bit of a surprising move, the Eagles are adding another veteran receiver.

After signing Hollywood Brown no long ago, the team is now signing former second-round pick Elijah Moore.

The one-year deal will bring in another receiver to a room that appears to be loading up.

Joe Douglas, with the Eagles for their first Super Bowl, drafted Moore while GM of the Jets and has now re-joined the Eagles front office.

Moore is also former college teammates with AJ Brown, who credits the former with helping him address issues with depression while at Ole Miss.

The contract is seemingly not a high-value one, so should not factor into any comp pick formulas and may not guarantee Moore a spot.

Of course, the addition of another “big name” receiver will fuel potential talks of a trade of AJ Brown, but that has no chance of happening until a team coughs up what the Eagles would need to unload a high-caliber player (reportedly a first-rounder +).

Really, this signals a very interesting battle to watch in camp. AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith are no brainers, but the competitions between former UDFA Darius Cooper, Hollywood Brown, Moore, and a returning Johnny Wilson (not to even mention Anias Smith) for what is probably only three guaranteed roster spots will be very interesting group.

It’s also hard to imagine a more talented group of receivers all in Philadelphia at one time at any point in any recent history.

With both Hollywood Brown and Moore being on one-year deals, the Eagles could also look to have them both produce and either get a pick for one in a trade or look to see if they can play themselves into a contract next year worth a compensatory pick.
