It took until the seventh round, but the Eagles finally selected a defender.

With pick 244, the team went to Texas Tech and picked Cole Wisniewski.

He started his career at North Dakota and was a hybrid that played linebacker in college, too.

He recorded 78 tackled, six PBUs, two forced fumbles, a sack, and a fumble recovery in his first season jumping from the FCS to the Big XII.

Heading out of the states, the team grabs Nigerian Uar Benard.

Benard is an athletic freak. Much like Mailata, he has little to no technical ability, but if they can develop him at all, his athleticism at this point has him tracking on or better with that of Myles Garrett when he was drafted.

It would not be a surprise for Mailata to work with him and help him develop as the team once did for him.

Finally the team went right back to the DL, grabbing New Mexico’s Keyshawn James-Newby.

James-Newby led his team with 9 sacks last year but is considered undersized – a significant issue for ends if it affects his play at the next level.
