The Philadelphia Flyers have locked up another cornerstone of their young core, agreeing to an eight-year contract extension with forward Tyson Foerster worth approximately $7 million annually. The deal, first reported by Elliotte Friedman, will keep Foerster in Philadelphia through the 2034-35 season.

The 24-year-old has developed into one of the Flyers’ most reliable two-way forwards, combining goal-scoring ability with strong defensive play and penalty-killing responsibilities. Philadelphia is clearly betting that Foerster’s best hockey is still ahead of him, especially as the NHL salary cap continues to rise.

The extension continues a busy offseason for general manager Daniel Brière, who recently signed goaltender Dan Vladar to a five-year extension, further solidifying the club’s long-term foundation.

With Foerster now under contract long-term, the Flyers continue to prioritize keeping their emerging core together as the franchise pushes deeper into its rebuild.
