Philadelphia: There is something special about the start of a new season, especially with College Football & all the movement that has happened.  Let’s take a look at some of the games for Week 1 involving the local teams

Temple:
The 2nd season of head coach K.C. Keeler gets going on Saturday as the Temple Owls will take on Rhode Island from Lincoln Financial Field. There is excitement around the team, especially the change in how the Owls came closer to making a Bowl game.

There are some questions about who will be the starting QB for the Owls; it is between Jaxon Smolik and Ajani Sheppard, so we will find out when the offence takes the field on Saturday. Kickoff is at 2 PM on ESPN+.

Some other notes for the Owls for Week 1 vs Rhode Island

Head Coach K.C. Keeler is 15-8 in week one contests since 2002.

The last time Temple won week one games in back-to-back seasons was in 2014 & 2015 under Matt Rhule when the Owls took down Vanderbilt and Penn State.

Penn: The Quakers don’t start their season until September 19 & led by new head coach Rick Santos

Villanova:
The Wildcats are attempting to rebound from a heartbreaking loss in the home opener in their first game as members of the Patriot League & will head on the road for a showdown with Bucknell

Kickoff is at 6 PM on Saturday

Penn State:
The Nittany Lions will attempt to make noise under new head coach Matt Campbell as they take on Marshall at 3:30 PM on FS1 from West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium.
