The Birds have parted with their veteran signal caller.
On Friday, the team announced that they would be releasing Andy Dalton.
The Eagles took a low-risk flier this offseason.
We have have signed C Jake Majors and RB Carson Steele to the active roster, released QB Andy Dalton and placed DT Uar Bernard on the Practice Squad injured list. https://t.co/p6ciMvggGJ

The trade itself wasn’t necessarily a bad decision, but hanging onto him as a fourth quarterback for the past several weeks was.
Who could forget all those memorable moments he had in an Eagles uniform – like the only pass he ever threw which was directly to a defender for an interception wasting perhaps the team’s most effective offensive drive of the season through four weeks.
Anyway, the team stops wasting a spot on a worse and older QB for some reason and uses that to add Jake Majors and Carson Steele to the active roster.
Steele gets the spot freed up by Dalton. He joins Dameon Pierce on the active roster as the pair will see reps alongside Will Shipley, who was originally the only healthy running back on the roster after Tank Bigsby went on IR earlier in the week.
Majors gets the call to fill Cam Jurgen’s spot and may see snaps with Drew Kendall dealing with injuries in practice this week.
