Despite mounting frustration during a BRUTAL stretch, the Philadelphia Phillies are not considering a change in the dugout. At least for now.
According to Jim Salisbury, president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski is “not pondering a managerial change, as has been speculated nationally.” The report directly counters recent rumors suggesting that manager Rob Thomson could be on the hot seat.
That speculation gained traction after Ken Rosenthal floated the idea that Thomson might be among the first managers dismissed if team struggles continue.
Philadelphia’s current seven-game losing streak has only amplified the noise. It marks the club’s longest skid since the 2019 season under Gabe Kapler, whose tenure ended following that campaign.
For now, however, Dombrowski’s stance signals organizational patience. While the noise around the team continues to grow, the Phillies appear focused on correcting issues on the field rather than making a reactionary move in the manager’s office.
