The Philadelphia Flyers fell to the Carolina Hurricanes, 3-2, in overtime in Game 2 of their second-round Stanley Cup Playoff series on Monday night. The Flyers built an early 2-0 lead behind goals from Jamie Drysdale and Sean Couturier, but couldn’t hold off the Hurricane relentless push.
The ‘Canes responded with sustained pressure, as Seth Jarvis tied the game in the third period to force overtime. In the extra frame, Taylor Hall scored the game-winner to give Carolina a 2-0 series lead. Despite a strong 35-save effort from Dan Vladar, Philadelphia couldn’t close it out.
The series now shifts to Philadelphia, where the Flyers will look to rebound in a crucial Game 3.
