The Philadelphia 76ers will be without superstar center Joel Embiid for Game 2 of their playoff series against the New York Knicks. Embiid was officially ruled out Wednesday because of right hip soreness and a right ankle sprain after reportedly experiencing increased discomfort after Game 1.
He reportedly woke up with increased discomfort and skipped the team shootaround before the Sixers officially downgraded him from probable to out.
The Sixers now face even more pressure to avoid falling behind 2-0 in the series before returning home.
