The Philadelphia Flyers will be without forward Noah Cates for the remainder of the postseason.

Head coach Rick Tocchet announced Wednesday that Cates will miss the rest of the playoffs due to the lower-body injury he suffered earlier in the team’s series against the Carolina Hurricanes.

In a corresponding move, the Flyers recalled top prospect Jett Luchanko. The 2024 first-round pick is expected to provide additional speed and offensive depth as Philadelphia attempts to stay alive in the postseason.

Cates had emerged as one of the Flyers’ most reliable two-way forwards during the 2025-26 season, posting career-best offensive numbers while continuing to play a major role for the Orange and Black throughout the year.
