The season is on the brink for the Philadelphia Flyers after a 4-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 3 on Thursday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Carolina now holds a commanding 3-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Jordan Staal and Andrei Svechnikov each scored power-play goals, while Jalen Chatfield added a momentum-shifting shorthanded tally for Carolina. Frederik Andersen continued his dominant postseason run with 18 saves as the Hurricanes improved to 7-0 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Trevor Zegras scored the lone goal for Philadelphia, which again struggled on the power play, finishing 0-for-5 with the man advantage. The Flyers were outshot 30-19 and committed costly penalties throughout the night.

Game 4 is set for Saturday in South Philadelphia, where the Flyers will attempt to avoid elimination.
