The Philadelphia Phillies put together one of their most dominant offensive performances of the season Saturday night, crushing the New York Mets 15-3 behind a historic performance from Kyle Schwarber.

Schwarber launched three home runs in the victory, including two mammoth blasts in the third inning. Both home runs traveled more than 450 feet, making Schwarber the first player in MLB history to hit two 450-plus-foot home runs in the same inning.

The slugger’s monster night was part of a record-setting evening for Philadelphia. Earlier in the game, Bryce Harper completed the first cycle of his career, giving the Phillies two historic individual performances in the same game.

According to MLB stats guru Sarah Langs, the Phillies became just the second team in Major League Baseball history to feature a player hitting for the cycle and another player recording a three-homer game in the same contest.

The only other occurrence came on June 3, 1932, when Tony Lazzeri hit for the cycle and Lou Gehrig blasted four home runs against the Philadelphia Athletics.

Nearly a century later, baseball history was made once again in Philadelphia.
