Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber Officially Enter 2026 MLB Home Run Derby

Philadelphia will have not one, but two hometown favorites competing under the lights at Citizens Bank Park.

Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber have officially committed to the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby, giving fans a pair of the game’s biggest sluggers to cheer on during All-Star Week in Philadelphia.

For Harper, it’s a return to the event where he delivered one of the most memorable performances in Derby history. In 2018, Harper thrilled the Washington crowd by defeating Schwarber in a dramatic final-round comeback, capturing his first Home Run Derby title.

Now, eight years later, the two Phillies teammates will once again share the Derby stage, this time wearing the same uniform in front of a packed Citizens Bank Park.

Schwarber enters the competition as one of baseball’s premier power hitters and has been among the league leaders in home runs throughout the 2026 season. Harper, meanwhile, remains one of the sport’s biggest stars and will have the home crowd firmly behind him as he looks to capture his second Derby crown.

The 2026 Home Run Derby is already shaping up to be one of the marquee events of MLB All-Star Week, but having two Phillies stars in the field raises the excitement even further. A potential Harper-Schwarber rematch in the later rounds would be must-watch television and a dream scenario for Philadelphia fans.

With the Derby returning to Philadelphia for the first time in three decades, Citizens Bank Park should provide an electric atmosphere as Harper and Schwarber look to put on a power display in front of their home fans.
