Bryce Harper Moving Back to Right Field as Phillies Reconfigure Lineup After Arraez Trade

The Philadelphia Phillies’ blockbuster acquisition of Luis Arraez is already creating a ripple effect across the diamond.

According to Todd Zolecki, Bryce Harper will move back to right field for the first time since making eight appearances there in 2022. Harper last played the outfield full-time during the 2021 season before transitioning to first base.

The defensive alignment is expected to feature Arraez at second base, Bryson Stott shifting to third base, and Alec Bohm moving across the diamond to first. The changes maximize Philadelphia’s offensive firepower while keeping one of baseball’s best contact hitters in the everyday lineup.

It’s another “bold” move by Dave Dombrowski as the Phillies continue positioning themselves for a deep postseason run.
