Eagles Activate Three Players From IR Ahead Of Monday Night Football

The Eagles may get a bit healthier this week.

The team announced the activation of three players on Monday, ahead of their match-up with the Cowboys.

The big impact comes in the form of Landon Dickerson. In theory, this would be the first time he’s healthy for a game day in essentially two full years.

Dickerson should slot into his guard spot and that’ll help with a position group that’s dealing with injuries and absences all along the line.

The bad news is at tight end, where the Eagles are activating Eli Stowers and Grant Calcaterra.

Stowers was placed on IR early on after an unimpressive camp. It should be good for the rookie to get some experience and, ideally, develop. That said, it would be unexpected for him to be able to make a real impact on the offense anytime soon.

Veteran Grant Calcaterra also returns – he’s been with the team for some time, but has been an active hinderance to the offense for the past two seasons. His return would seemingly put him in line to play as the TE2 – that would give the team a player who doesn’t impact the passing game and actively goes around the players he’s supposed to block to ensure every play is made by the other team as far in the backfield as he can allow.

The decision is an especially odd one with Ertz out of practice squad elevations and being unable to play unless he gets a roster spot. Instead of promoting him, they pick the guy who has been a total negative for years.
