Philadelphia is going all out for America’s 250th birthday celebration and the star-studded lineup for this year’s July 4 concert on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway might be the biggest yet.
Mayor Cherelle Parker announced Thursday that Christina Aguilera, Will Smith, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jill Scott, The Roots, and Seal will headline the city’s “One Philly: Unity Concert for America” celebration.
The free concert will take place on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and serves as the centerpiece of the city’s expanded Wawa Welcome America festivities. Officials are billing the event as the “largest free concert experience in the nation” as Philadelphia prepares to celebrate the nation’s semiquincentennial in 2026.
Additional performers include Kathy Sledge, State Property, and Infinity Song, while comedian Wanda Sykes will host the event. Philly personalities Gillie Da King and Wallo267 are also expected to appear.
Doors are scheduled to open at 3 p.m., with performances beginning at 5 p.m. before the annual fireworks finale over the Philadelphia Museum of Art later that night.
