Sixers Front Office Search Heating Up With Several Names Emerging

The Philadelphia 76ers are entering one of the most important offseasons in franchise history. After officially moving on from former president of basketball operations Daryl Morey, the organization has begun an extensive search for the next executive tasked with reshaping the future of the franchise.

Former Golden State Warriors executive Bob Myers is currently overseeing basketball operations on an interim basis and is reportedly hoping to have a new lead executive in place before the 2026 NBA Draft on June 23.

Several names have already surfaced as potential candidates.

Elton Brand

Brand remains one of the most recognizable internal candidates. The current Sixers general manager has remained with the organization through multiple front-office transitions and continues to maintain strong relationships throughout the league.

Brand previously served as the lead executive before Morey’s arrival and could offer continuity if ownership prefers familiarity within the organization.

Jameer Nelson

Nelson has steadily climbed the ladder inside Philadelphia’s front office and is viewed by many around the league as an emerging executive talent.

The former NBA guard has developed strong relationships within the organization and has become increasingly involved in basketball operations decisions over recent seasons.

Vince Rozman

Rozman is quickly becoming one of the most intriguing external candidates tied to the search. Currently with the Oklahoma City Thunder organization, Rozman previously worked within the Sixers front office during both the Sam Hinkie and Daryl Morey eras.

His reputation as a strong evaluator and scouting mind has only grown as Oklahoma City has developed into one of the NBA’s deepest young rosters.

Mike Gansey

Gansey has become a respected executive with the Cleveland Cavaliers and has received increasing attention around the league for his role in Cleveland’s roster construction and player development.

His experience helping guide a rising Eastern Conference contender makes him a logical name to monitor in Philadelphia’s search.

Matt Lloyd

Lloyd has extensive front-office experience and is currently part of the Minnesota Timberwolves organization.

Long viewed as a respected scouting and personnel executive, Lloyd has been connected to several front-office opportunities over recent years and could bring a player-evaluation focused approach to Philadelphia.

Travis Schlenk

Schlenk is one of the most experienced names connected to the opening. The former Atlanta Hawks general manager played a major role in reshaping Atlanta’s roster around Trae Young and has longstanding ties to successful NBA front-office structures.

His previous experience running basketball operations could appeal to a Sixers team still operating in win-now mode.

Nick U’Ren

U’Ren previously worked closely with Bob Myers in Golden State before moving into executive roles elsewhere, including the WNBA.

His relationship with Myers and reputation around the league continue to make him a noteworthy candidate as the search evolves.

This tracker will continue to be updated as additional candidates emerge and the Sixers move closer to selecting their next president of basketball operations.
