The praise for new Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion continues to roll in from inside the NovaCare Jefferson Health Training Complex.
First it was All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley publicly praising Mannion’s offensive mind earlier this offseason. Now, All-Pro tackle Jordan Mailata is echoing similar sentiments as the Eagles begin installing new wrinkles into the offense ahead of the 2026 season.
While speaking with reporters, Mailata described Mannion as an “evil genius” and one of the smartest football minds in the building, that’s some high praise from one of the leaders of the offensive line.
The early theme surrounding Mannion has been clear: players are buying in… quickly.
Following Kevin Patullo’s departure, there was understandable curiosity about how the offense would evolve under a first-year coordinator. So far, the reviews from inside the locker room have been overwhelmingly positive.
“Sean [Mannion] is an evil genius. The guy knows ball. If I were to lock the three smartest people in the building in a room together, Sean would be there. He’d probably be by himself.”
That’s a compliment, folks!
