The Philadelphia Phillies have made another significant move ahead of the MLB trade deadline, acquiring infielder Luis Arraez and right-handed pitcher Kaleb Kilian from the San Francisco Giants, according multiple reports. Heading to San Francisco are right-handers Ramon Marquez and Marty Gair.
Arraez immediately strengthens Philadelphia’s lineup, bringing one of baseball’s premier contact hitters and a three-time batting champion to a club already among the National League’s best. Meanwhile, Kilian gives the Phillies additional pitching depth as they prepare for the stretch run and postseason.
President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski continues to be aggressive in upgrading the roster, addressing both the lineup and pitching staff as Philadelphia looks to position itself for another deep October run.
