The Philadelphia Flyers appear set to lock in their starting goaltender for the foreseeable future. According to multiple reports, the organization is expected to sign Dan Vladar to a contract extension by or shortly after June 1 as the club continues shaping its roster for the future.
Vladar became one of Philadelphia’s most valuable players during the 2025-26 season. The 28-year-old appeared in 52 games and posted a 29-14-7 record with a 2.42 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage while helping lead the Flyers back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. His steady play throughout the season helped solidify the Flyers’ crease and gave the team consistency in net.
The veteran netminder elevated his game during the postseason. Vladar finished the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 2.18 goals-against average and an impressive .922 save percentage despite Philadelphia’s eventual playoff exit.
With Vladar proving he can handle a starter’s workload while thriving under postseason pressure, the Flyers now appear ready to reward him with a new contract heading into the 2026-27 season.
