Sean Mannion’s early offseason work with franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts has left the new Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator encouraged about the direction of the offense heading into 2026.

Speaking prior to OTAs, Mannion emphasized that developing chemistry with Hurts started well before stepping onto the practice field.

“It’s been a great process with Jalen [Hurts],” Mannion said. “He’s been a pleasure to work with and — really since I got the job, being able to connect with him on a personal level, and then on a football level has been great.”

Mannion praised Hurts not only for his physical tools, but also for the way he approaches preparation and learning the offense. Having already worked through multiple coordinators during his NFL career, Hurts’ adaptability has stood out throughout the spring program.

“Jalen’s been awesome. I really think he can do anything we ask of him,” Mannion explained. “He’s accurate. He’s a great athlete. He really attacks the fundamentals.”

The Eagles’ OC added that Hurts constantly pushes for more after practices and meetings, often asking detailed questions about timing, fundamentals, and scheme concepts.

Mannion also confirmed Hurts’ running ability will remain part of Philadelphia’s offensive identity moving forward, though the Eagles plan to attack defenses in multiple ways as the system continues to evolve throughout the season.
